For many men, this might sound a touch strange – but have you ever thought about glittering up your beard? We know, it sounds quite odd. For some guys, though, it’s become their go-to look; something a big different from the norm. It’s a common choice for many people on the LGBT circuit, as you might have noticed if you ever watch any of the Pride rallies. The exciting colour combinations illuminating in the beard are often impressive…but how do you go about doing this?
Is it as hard as it seems? Let us try and explain.
Clean it up first
So, to begin with, go for a hot shower and try to get your beard as tangle-free as you can. Work with a comb and get out any of the kinks that you can. This will immediately help your beard to be much more natural looking, and it will also make a big difference when it comes to adding the glitter in the first place.
That’s why we recommend that you should try and get rid of the knots – it will make the glittering process a touch easier.
Get a matching solution
One thing that we recommend you do, too, is that you get a matching choice of glitter in the form of a powder product such as blusher. This should be most useful if you have a short beard, or very little beard at all. For those with a thick and dense beard, though, you might not really need to use a base. You still can, though, if you so choose.
Invest in good glitter
So, this is not so much a step, but a tip – make sure you buy some decent glitter. You can get it online and in craft stores, but we recommend checking drug stores like Boots and Superdrug. They sell a nice blend of glitters that you should be able to apply to your hair – just make sure you buy good quality glitter that is safe to put into your hair.
Use glitter glue
Never, make sure that you start applying some glitter glue to the face – again, make sure it’s safe to use on your head. You get hair gels that are for glitter fixing, so something like that might be a good choice. Some of these even come with colour through them, so you should be able to add a bit more energy and vibrancy to your beard with this. It’s a good choice for adding depth to the glitter.
Stick the glitter on
Lastly, begin the application of your glitter as soon as you can. This is going to be something that you can muck around with - basically, pick something that you think looks good and/or stylish. Go with this and you should be able to get your beard looking nice and glitterful. It’s going to take a bit of work, but you shouldn’t hold back. Go crazy – it’s supposed to be fun, after all!
So, what will you go for in terms of glitter colours and/or themes?
