beard oil for stubble

Should You Use Beard Oil for Stubble?

Beard oil for stubble?

At what point should you start using beard oil?

Well actually we advocate as soon as possible.

And in the case for stubble.

We reckon you should absolutely be using beard oil to make for an all round better stubble. See it will not only help make your stubble and skin feel smoother but it will also keep the hairs prompt and healthy too.

Not to mention a killer sheen and a natural fragrance that the essential oils within the beard oil exude.

That said, as you probably know...

Not all beard oils are crafted quite the same and some beard oils may cause a stubble to feel greasy and heavy, especially on a stubble where there isn’t actually that much ‘beard’ there to help soak it up.

That’s why we recommend you opt for a much lighter blend.

And that’s exactly what we have on offer.

Our premium range beard oils (that are handcrafted right here in Nottinghamshire to maintain super high quality control standards) act to deeply penetrate your facial scruff as well as your skin with moisture to provide the necessary hydration but also help it feel light and refreshing rather than groggy and greasy that some other heavier blends can end up doing.

Trust us, it’s not comfortable - and if you are new to beard oils it wouldn’t be surprising if they put you off completely.

Instead, we’ve crafted our with the following ingredients (a snippet from our best smelling The Outlaw Bay Rum Beard Oil):

Organic Safflower Oil (Carthamus tinctorius oil) - brief description on why it is a light oil and a unique reason as to why it is beneficial for your stubble/ beard/ skin

Coconut Oil (Caprylic/capric triglyceride fractionated oil) brief description on why it is a light oil and a unique reason as to why it is beneficial for your stubble/ beard/ skin

Pure Cedarwood Himalayan Essential Oil (Cedrus deodora oil) brief description on why it is a light oil and a unique reason as to why it is beneficial for your stubble/ beard/ skin

Black Pepper Essential Oil (Piper nigrum oil) brief description on why it is a light oil and a unique reason as to why it is beneficial for your stubble/ beard/ skin

Cognac and Cuban Cigar Parfum (Fragrance) brief description on why it is a light oil and a unique reason as to why it is beneficial for your stubble/ beard/ skin

Now you’ve got a better idea as to why you should be using beard oil for your stubble, let’s break down exactly how you should go about using it.

Like we say, with everything here at Robin Hood Beard Co. we of course want you to experiment - because what is working for one guy might not be working for you. That said, we do advocate regular use.

At least once daily.

Preferably twice.

Typically, once in a morning usually when you are prepping yourself getting ready for work alongside the whole cleaning your teeth etc. Then also once at night, again when you are getting ready for a kip.

The ideal time to apply it? Just after you’ve had a warm shower. How should you apply it?  Generally in a massaging motion spreading it right across your face. With a longer beard we would recommend getting out the beard brush or comb at this stage, but since you are just at the stubble stage - using just your palms to distribute the oil is fine.

How much beard oil should you use on stubble?

Well after a bit of playing around, you will get a much better idea as to how much you need to use. Whether you need a drop or one less drop (we always dish out the old advice of “you can always add more but it’s difficult to takeaway”).

The general rule of thumb goes along the lines of:

For every month you have grown out your beard, add two more drops of beard oil.

In the case of stubble? That would be two drops. Zero months grown plus two. It’s not strict mind, so if you feel need an extra drop or so, don’t sweat it.

Ultimately make the most of it. No matter what time you are at with your 5 o’clock stubble.

Summary: Using it on a regular basis is pretty great for a few reasons.

  • A better looking, cleaner, healthier stubble
  • More manageable (less irritable), well hydrated facial scruff and skin
  • Smell freaking awesome!
